Ipanema Beach Photographer | Photoshoot in Rio de Janeiro

Ipanema is the beach most people have in mind when they think of Rio. The long stretch of sand, the black and white promenade and the Two Brothers mountain at the end of the beach give you a recognizable background from almost every angle.

A photoshoot here can be as simple as a walk on the promenade and a few shots on the sand, or a full session that includes the dunes, the water line and the rocks. I choose the spot on the day based on the light and on how busy the beach is.

Why shoot in Ipanema

Wide open sky and a clear view of the Two Brothers mountain.
Many different settings in one place: promenade, dunes, sand, waves and rocks.
Easy to reach from most hotels in the South Zone.

Best time of day

Early morning and the hour before sunset are the best times. The middle of the day is bright and busy. In winter the sun sets around 5:20 pm and in summer around 6:45 pm (approximate times, check your date).
