Quadrado da Urca is one of my favorite places in Rio de Janeiro for solo female photoshoots. The calm atmosphere, soft light and beautiful view of Sugarloaf Mountain create the perfect setting for elegant and natural portraits.
For Voke’s session, we chose golden hour to capture Rio in a softer and more cinematic way. The light at the end of the day in Urca is always special, especially near the water with the mountains in the background.
One of the things I always tell my clients is that you don’t need to know how to pose. Most women I photograph are not models and usually say they feel nervous in the beginning. My approach is very natural and relaxed, guiding you during the entire session so the photos feel effortless and authentic.
Quadrado da Urca is also a great option for travelers who want beautiful photos in Rio without extremely crowded locations. The area feels quieter compared to some of the more touristy beaches, while still offering one of the most iconic views in the city.
For this session, Voke wore a light summer outfit that worked perfectly with the warm tones of sunset and the neutral colors of the scenery. Simple styling choices usually photograph beautifully in Rio, especially during beach and outdoor sessions.
